The fourth grade class went to the Tieszen Memorial Home last week. The students got to play Bingo for the first time and it was a big hit with the residents. The students assisted them with their Bingo card. A fun time was held.

Congratulations to the Marion One Act cast, crew and directors for being chosen to participate in the State One Act competition. On Tuesday, January 23, the One Act team competed in Madison against six other teams in the region for a spot on the state docket.They performed Elephant's Graveyard, by George Brant. Outstanding actor awards were given to eight students: Isabelle McConniel Ringmaster, Harley Crooks, Strongman, Emma McConniel, Engineer, Kallie Johnson, Trainer, Karley Luke, Young Townsperson, Domani Butler, Hungry Townsperson, Liz Piehl, Tour Manager, Morgan Tieszen, Preacher. The State One Act Competition will be held February 1-3 at Brandon Valley. The One Act is directed by Sarah Schanzenbach and Nicolle Timmerman.

Good morning, the Marion School District will be closing early today, Thursday, January 18th, 2024 at 1:00PM due to the current and projected forecast from the NWS. Along with the projected light snow are projected winds of 25-30 mph which will make travel difficult in and around the area. The Marion FCCLA will offer Valentine's Day flowers, balloons, pop, and candy. Order forms will come home with your child on January 19, 2024. Orders need to be sent to the school by February 9. All orders will be delivered by 3 pm on Valentine's Day.

Good evening, the unofficial bond vote results have been received. The school board will meet at 7:00AM tomorrow morning to canvass the votes. Total Votes: 387 Yes Votes: 199 = 51.42% No Votes: 188 = 48.58% The bond resolution failed as a 60% threshold was necessary. Thank you to everyone who came out to vote today.

Good evening, Marion School District will start two hours late tomorrow. Buses will be running where they are able, please communicate with your bus driver regarding road issues. Breakfast will be available from 9:30-9:50 so please plan accordingly if your child(ren) want to have breakfast. Good evening, Due to the winchill warning with potential projected windchills of as low as -50 paired with county and township road conditions, the Marion School District will be closed tomorrow (01/15/2024). There will be no activities and no Bear Care. With this beign our third school cancellation we will now have school on Friday January 19th, February 9th, and now Friday, February 16th. Please stay safe! Additionally, the district would like to remind everyone about Tuesday's bond vote. We encourage all registered voters to visit the polling site (at the school) between 7:00AM and 7:00PM.
