The second graders have been learning about Christmas customs around the world. Rita Schmidt brought in some special items to show the class as she told them about Christmas in Germany. She also brought treats for them to taste.

The Marion School District had a visitor today causing trouble. The Grinch tried to do Mr. Leberman's job but decided to run the halls instead and steal our Christmas presents.

The Marion Student Council will be showing The Polar Express for a fundraiser event tonight (12/15/2023). The event is $5 for adults and $3 for students. The doors open at 5:50 pm, please use the EAST entrance of the school, the movie will start at 6:30pm. You may bring pillows and blankets to get cozy while watching the movie. Concessions that will be available are pop, water, candy, popcorn, and baked goods. Please come out to support the Marion Student Council.

It's concert week! A few reminders - elementary students are to their classrooms at 6:30 with their portion starting at 6:45 in the small gym. 6-12th students are in the music room at 7:00 with their portion starting roughly around 7:15 in the small gym. Student attire is "Christmas Best," and if you signed up to bring some treats for the bake sale, please have those in the small gym by 6:30. A couple reminders, Saturday December 9th is the Marion Community Christmas Celebration in the Marion High School new gym. The Celebration is 10:30am-1:00pm. From 11:00am-1:00pm there will be a free pork loin sandwich meal.
The Marion School District Student Council will be hosting a Christmas movie night on Friday Dec. 15th starting at 6:30 pm in the New Gym open to the public $5 per adult $3 per child. The doors will open at 5:50pm. Please use the East entrance. The movie showing is Polar Express. The concessions that will be available are popcorn, candy, water, and pop. Congratulations to the Oral Interp students that participated at the State Oral Interp at Harrisburg this weekend! Reader's Theater "Jack and the Beanstalk ....and the French Fries. (Alexa, Domani, Kaylee, Avery, Kolter, and Harli) received a superior rating.
Alexa participated in Storytelling, "The Mansion and the Visitor". Harli Ross competed in Non-original Oratory, entitled, "Creativity".

Karley Luke participated in the SD State FFA competition in Rapid City on Dec. 4 and received 5th place overall in Creed Speaking.


The Lady Bearcats Varsity basketball team traveled to Colome to open the 2023 season. They came out on top with a 31-20 win over the Cowgirls. Great job!
The Lady Bearcats will host Chester Area tonight at Freeman Academy. JV will tip at 5:30 with Varsity to follow. Good luck tonight!
