5th grade students learned about electrical safety, generation, energy efficiency and conservation, the movement of electricity, as well as the various electric generation plants. Th students ran a bicycle powered generator as well as experimented with a Van de Graaff generator.

The second graders completed a unit on pioneers. Students learned about their journey on a covered wagon and how and why sod houses were built on the prairie. They used Discovery Packs from The Old Courthouse Museum to see examples of pioneer tools and clothing, and they played pioneer games.

Ashton Kesteloot is hosting and Youth Basketball Camp for boys in grades 1st-8th this coming Friday, November 8th for his senior project. This camp will begin at 1:45 p.m. in the Marion Big Gym. Individuals who plan to attend this camp need to be in the Marion Big Gym at 1:30 p.m. to get dressed and ready for the camp. This camp is free and will conclude at about 3:45 p.m., we encourage 1st-8th grade boys to attend for a fun learning experience!
