The Marion School District will be CLOSED today. Our second scheduled makeup day for closure is February 9th. School is now scheduled to be in session January 19 and February 9th due to these last two closures. Please stay safe!
The Marion School District will open two hours late tomorrow, Tuesday the 9th of January. With the 10:00 start there will be an opportunity for breakfast from 9:30 - 9:50. Buses will run approxiately 2-hours later than their normal schedule and if there is an adjustment in transportation, please communicate with your bus driver. Finally, with winter finally showing up, please remember warm/winter clothing and attire! If conditions worsen and a cancellation is necessary, I'll do my best to commuicate that decision out by 8:30AM. Please travel safe and we're looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! BEAR PRIDE!
Good morning, the school board meeting that was scheduled for this evening (01/08/24) will be rescheduled to Wednesday evening, at 5:00PM (January 10th). The Marion School District will be closed on Monday, January 8th, 2024 due to the winter storm. There will be no activites, no practices, no Bear Care, the gymnasium is closed, and the school board meeting will be rescheduled. We will communicate the new date/time (for the board meeting) as soon as it has been decided. We will be making up this missed school day on Friday, January 19th, 2024, so the 19th, which was originally scheduled for a "Helpday" will now be in-session (please see school calendar for more info on this)...Stay safe and I hope to see everyone on Tuesday! The Bearcat Varsity Basketball teams will travel to the Mitchell Corn Palace to participate in the Sacred Hoops Classic this Saturday (1/06). The Girls Varsity will play at 9 a.m. vs. St. Francis. This game will be played in the Armory, just above the Corn Palace. The Boys Varsity will play Parkston at 10:30 a.m. on the Corn Palace main floor. Admission prices are $10 for Adults and $5 for students.

Happy New Year from the Marion School District! We hope you've had a great winter break and we're excited to see everyone later this week! Two reminders -- 1. School resumes for students on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. -- 2. The voter registration deadline for the school's bond vote on January 16th is tomorrow, January 2nd, 2024. We encourage everyone to get registered and hope you vote on the 16th!
The 3rd thru 6th grade boys basketball will practice on January 2nd at 2 pm.
The Bearcats Boys Basketball team will travel to Tri-Valley tomorrow (12/28) to play the Mustangs. JV will tip-off at 6:15. Varsity will follow.

The Marion Student Council will be showing The Polar Express for a fundraiser event tonight (12/15/2023). The event is $5 for adults and $3 for students. The doors open at 5:50 pm, please use the EAST entrance of the school, the movie will start at 6:30pm. You may bring pillows and blankets to get cozy while watching the movie. Concessions that will be available are pop, water, candy, popcorn, and baked goods. Please come out to support the Marion Student Council.
