Dear Parents/ Guardians: The Marion School District is considering starting an after school program for students in grades K-5 on, or around September of the 2022-2023 school year. The program would run from 3:45pm- 5:30pm on school days. Please help us assess your needs for an afterschool program for your student by completing the following survey questions. The Marion School District finishing off this years summer reading program with the Zoo Mobile! We learned some really cool facts about the animal the Zoo Mobile brought! Thank you Great Plains Zoo!!



**Attention High School Volleyball players!!** High School Volleyball sign-up is scheduled for Tuesday June 21st at 7pm in the new gym located in Marion. All who are participating in volleyball grades 8th-12th must attend this mandatory meeting/sign-up. This will be official sign-up day, warm-up sizing along with uniform information. Marion HS boys that are interested in playing Phoenix football please be at the Freeman football field this Saturday (06/11/22) and Sunday (06/12/22) evening at 6:30pm with shorts, t-shirt and football cleats. If you need cleats come to the school Friday (06/10/22) 8:00am-11:00am to look through some donated ones to use. We want all High School boys to participate and have a great year of football. Preschool is having fun on their last day of school with a class campout!!!

The 2nd- 3rd grade field trip to Sioux Falls on May 18th to the the Outdoor Campus, the Butterfly house, playground and stopped at Dairy Queen for a sweet treat.



The 4th-5th grade field trip to Yankton, SD on May 11th. The field trip started at Lewis and Clark Visitor Center, then to Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery, and finished the day with a walked through the Aquarium.

First graders with their pineapple from Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Grant.

Kindergarten & 1st Grade made air dry clay projects and played at the Imagination Playground at the Museum of Visual Materials for their field trip on Tuesday.

First Grade students entered a coloring contest through the Sanford poison control department. Carson Bauerle and Kassidie Johnson both won gift cards!

Due to storm clean-up efforts, Marion School Help Day is canceled for Friday, May 13, 2022.
Monday May 16, will be the spring Sports Banquet and Academic Awards ceremony in the small gym at Marion with potluck at 6:30 pm and ceremony to follow at 7:00
This will be a potluck:
Seniors, Sophomores and 7th grade bring a main dish
Juniors, Freshman and 8th grade bring a salad or dessert
**Tableware and drink will be provided.
Monday 83 kids went to Madison, SD for AR Trip because they met their goal. They went to Dakota State University and to the Lake County Museum. Congrats on all the reading these kids had to do.
