Senior Year

  • Congratulations! You made it to your senior year!

  • Review your high school transcript to ensure you have all that you need for graduation and any additional coursework you need for college admission, scholarships, etc

  • Start applying to colleges! October and November mark the “SD Free College Application Period”.

  • Apply for Financial Aid starting October 1st

  • Narrow down your top schools and make a decision you’ll be happy with

  • Create a “Brag Sheet” including volunteer hours, grades, extracurricular activities, and awards—refer to this when applying for colleges and/or employment

  • Research scholarship opportunities: Check your university’s scholarships, visit Dakota Dreams Scholarship Dashboard, and check your email frequently for local scholarships shared by Mrs. Yusella

  • If you haven’t already, register with the NCAA/NAIA if you plan to participate in athletics after high school

  •  

    Wrap up your resume and have several people review it
